We were thrilled to attend the Defence Procurement & Supply Chain Summit, designed to explore the vast opportunities arising from the recent increase in the defence budget. As the government announces a significant boost in defence spending, our industry stands at the threshold of unprecedented growth and innovation. This summit is your gateway to understanding and leveraging these new opportunities to enhance our national security and drive technological advancements. From April 2026, an additional £2.2 billion will be allocated to the Ministry of Defence, marking the first step in a broader commitment to meet NATO’s updated target of spending 5% of GDP on national security by 2035 — with 3.5% dedicated to core defence and 1.5% directed towards resilience and wider security. The Defence Procurement and Supply Chain Summit will provide a vital platform to understand what these changes mean for industry, how funding will be directed, and where the opportunities lie for organisations across the defence supply chain.
