As the government announces a significant boost in defence spending, our industry stands at the threshold of unprecedented growth and innovation. From April 2026, an additional £2.2 billion will be allocated to the Ministry of Defence, marking the first step in a broader commitment to meet NATO’s updated target of spending 5% of GDP on national security by 2035 — with 3.5% dedicated to core defence and 1.5% directed towards resilience and wider security.
